    Weather updates

It's snowing in Big Stone. We have a dusting already and it's snowing pretty good right now.

What are the reports other places in the area?

    Re: Weather updates

    Dusting here so far too.

Reports out of eastern KY of some quick moderate to heavy bursts within this first band of snow and some rates of about an inch per hour in some spots. Most have picked up about 1/2 to an inch with some isolated reports of 2-3...as of now.

    Here we go.

This keeps reminding me of the snow we had last December every time I hear about it.

I love a white Christmas. If anyone is traveling, please be safe!

    Re: Weather updates

The snow should pick back up later on tonight and keep on through Monday. I will keep updating about the roads in coeburn and at work tom. in Wise but for now I have to go to Blountville TN to visit the inlaws...

    Re: Weather updates

Receieved about 2-3 inches here so far this morning, heard some with 4 or so also around the area.

We just missed out on another band that moved northeast and just passed to the east clipping some of the counties in the area.

As LCAS mentioned, snows pick back up tonight as the surface low strengthens off the east coast, the northwest flow kicks in, and an upper low rotates through this area, providing for some good upslope snows, especially in the higher elevations and favored locations....additional accumulations of 5-12 inches possible. NWS noted in their afternoon discussion that the highest elevations could see an additional 1 to 1 1/2 feet of snow.

    Re: Weather updates

Aside from the spotty snow and flurries already out there, an area of snow pushing across KY and TN moving toward the area should move in a little later.

Just drove from Coeburn to Wise.

Roads are beginning to get slick.
